Does anyone one know of anything that will be suitable...need 3 bedrooms plus garage(with power as we have a large freezer) and that would possibly accept cats?
We have 2 girls aged 2 and 4 1/2 who keep asking me where are are moving to eek!

Elizabeth I was amused to read your reply to my letter. Why?
.
1) 8 months ago your notions would have been uttered by me.
2)you are dreaming if you believe council takes into account
availability of funds !

Elizabeth you , me and the Mayor live in the same opulent bubble.
The only difference , my bubble has burst, when meeting
people who are struggling in this recession.
Pensioners ,people on a fixed income + young couples with a
mortgage + young families.
My problem is Mayor Livingstone during in a recession! He seems obsessional in pushing through his “nice to have ,bucket list.”

What does this mean to the people of Waipa?

IN THE 10 YEAR PLAN
-council borrowing is projected to increase by approx 100 %,
-approx $72million is to be borrowed a considerable amount of it
will be spent on “nice to have items” - not necessities!
-“intergenerational equity’ ie (Cambridge Pool complex)
Means repayments will be spread over the whole life of the asset.
(This means we will pay for the “asset” at least 3-4 times over.)

-where does this leave your children+ grandchildren in the future?
-where does it leave people “now” in a recession with ever increasing rates (council states 4.1% increase per year for next 10 yrs)

I`ll tell you where. Up a creek without a paddle. Elizabeth
I hope we wake up more + more complacent people.
.Hopefully you will go a step further. Attend council meetings,
read the 10 years plan.
You will be as worried as I am in this recession. We have to consider
people less fortunate than ourselves.

Amanda (Reilly) great you are so happy with Waipa Council . If we weren`t in a recession I too would be happy with them. You make no mention in your letter of the recession! I now understand why. You are in a very
fortunate position Amanda you are a two income family. Would you be coping so well if one of you lost your job?
What if you both lost your jobs? Perhaps then you would understand the predicament many people are in.

Amanda there is a word in the dictionary “ empathy.” It means “the ability to understand + share the feelings
of another person.” I have empathy for people on one income, unemployed people, elderly people on a fixed income etc. Council were oblivious to the hardship of these people ,I`m trying to help them.

Council is beginning to wake up but we “concerned ratepayers” need to keep the pressure on. I sincerely believe Council needs to concentrate on infrastructure + debt reduction in this recession. When the recession is over it will be great to look to the future. Perhaps then you + I can sit down have a coffee + plan all the things
council can spend our money on.

Ps I can`t find your submissions anywhere ?
